Born in South Korea, Dr. Chung moved to the U.S. at the age of 8 and grew up in Blacksburg, Virginia. She attended Virginia Tech, earning a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry with a minor in Chemistry. After graduation, she moved to Boston, Massachusetts, to work as a Research Technician in the Gastroenterology Department at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital.

Dr. Chung then pursued a Master's degree in Urban Ministry Leadership at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, where she developed a deep passion for addressing social injustice and supporting underprivileged populations, particularly those with limited access to oral healthcare. During her studies, she volunteered at homeless shelters, participated in medical mission trips, and worked with churches and various non-profit organizations, which further fueled her interest in dentistry. With this diverse range of experiences, Dr. Chung pursued dental studies at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where she received her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree.

Dr. Chung is a member of the American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Association, and Virginia Dental Association. She is a strong advocate for promoting oral health education, increasing access to oral healthcare, and supporting outreach programs. She is dedicated to providing excellent care with the highest moral and ethical standards.

In her free time, Dr. Chung enjoys working out at the gym, hiking, and playing the violin and guitar. She also loves traveling, spending time with family and friends, and bonding with her dog, Ellie.
